FOUNTAIN SOLUTIONS
New Ultra F.S. Our signature one-step fountain solution, and fastest selling fountain related product. Gans new Ultra F.S. contains extra gum and wetting agents for the sharpest dot reproduction and accelerated roll-ups and re-starts. This fountain solution has been formulated to effectively work with both conventional and digitally imaged plates, and both conventional and UV curable inks.
Lithofount 91Z An extremely versatile one-step fountain solution, Lithofount 91Z contains a higher percentage of desensitizing agents for the highest speed sheet-fed and web presses. This fountain solution has been formulated to effectively work with both conventional and digitally imaged plates, and both conventional and UV curable inks.
Diamond Etch W.T. Gans Diamond Etch W.T. has been formulated as the first part of a two-step fountain solution for presses requiring more wetting than a one-step can provide. This fountain solution is low in VOC’s, chrome free, and will work effectively with both conventional and digitally imaged plates. While formulated for use with conventional inks, Diamond Etch W.T. works especially well with UV curable inks on synthetic, non-absorbent substrates, such as vinyl and plastics.
This alcohol replacement is formulated for use with Diamond Etch W.T. Diamond Sub will provide the maximum wetness for the most difficult dampening systems, and, containing no E.B. (Ethylene Glycol Mono Butyl Ether), Diamond Sub is the ideal choice for UV curable inks printed on non-absorbent substrates.
An economic alternative to Diamond Sub, this alcohol replacement is formulated for use with Diamond Etch W.T. Diamond AR will effectively reduce the surface tension of the fountain solution to the low 30’s for even distribution. This alcohol replacement is most effective for use with conventional inks.
PLATE RELATED SUPPLY ITEMS
Digital Plate Cleaner For cost-effectiveness, Gans Digital Plate Cleaner can’t be beat. 3 products in one, this product is an excellent plate cleaner, scratch remover and temporary storage gum (up to 30 days). Compatible with all conventional plates, and more sensitive CTP digital plates, Digital Plate Cleaner should be in every pressroom!
Plate Restore Gans Plate Restore is a heavy duty plate cleaner and scratch remover, excellent for restoring blind plates. Formulated to encourage a hydrophilic response, this product will eliminate scratches by keeping the non-image area of the plate water receptive. Plate Restore also works well as a polyester plate start-up etch. This product may be too strong for some CTP digital plates, pre-testing is recommended.
Asphaltum Storage Gum This product is a proven long term plate storage gum compatible with both conventional and CTP digital plates. Gans Asphaltum Storage Gum will protect and preserve your plates for months or years, and is also an effective chrome roller desensitizer when used as part of a preventative maintenance program.
SPECIALTY SUPPLY ITEMS
Fount Additive Designed as an as-needed fountain solution additive, Gans Fount Additive is designed to add extreme desensitizing capacity to the fountain when printing difficult ink types, such as metallics and fluorescents. Fount Additive will allow the printer to keep the finest reverses open in the heaviest solids, and keep the heaviest screen percentages printing clean and sharp. Gans Fount additive is a miracle tool every pressroom should have for difficult print jobs.
Blanket Revive Designed to restore used, glazed blanket surfaces to “like-new” condition, Gans Blanket Revive is an excellent product for improving sheet release and assisting with fit issues due to release distortion. This product will allow the printer to extend the quality and useful life of every printing blanket in the shop.
Deep Klene For truly effective and efficient color washes, Gans has developed Deep Klene. With one or two applications this product will cut through ink, paper and water deposits quickly and more effectively than wash-up solvents alone. Deep Klene will allow the printer to effortlessly switch from dark colors to light colors and will condition the rubber rollers in the inks train for better ink/water balance and control.
Hard Dry Scratch Resistant Blending System
Gans Hard Dry Scratch Resistant blending system has been formulated for use on non-absorbent substrates such as vinyl, acetate, mylar, foil and Tyvek. Additionally, hard dry inks are strongly recommended for use on dull and matte coated papers, as well as most uncoated, tag and index papers. These finishes tend to scratch easily in bindery and many post-printing processes, and a hard dry ink can often minimize the damage.
Gans Hard Dry Scratch Resistant inks are not considered finishing friendly. This series has an average stay-open period of about 4-6 hours before beginning to develop a skin.
*Some laminates and coatings have the potential to “bleed” or alter the appearance of some pigments. It is recommended that standard pigments be pre-tested when laminating or coating.
Rubber Based Blending Inks
Gans “Double X” Rubber Based inks have been an industry standard for years. Formulated to improve performance with limited and difficult dampening systems, as well as with paper and poly plates.
*Some laminates and coatings have the potential to “bleed” or alter the appearance of some pigments. It is recommended that standard pigments be pre-tested when laminating or coating.
FADE RESISTANT PROCESS INKS
For applications requiring prolonged exposure to light, such as packaging and labeling, Gans Ink has developed process ink formulations using pigments resistant to the fading effect of UV radiation. Please note that process black and cyan are inherently fade-resistant, only the magenta and yellow will fade with time. Gans Ink’s fade resistant process inksets are formulated to wet trap inline, however, it is possible to purchase only the fade resistant magenta and yellow and run them with your standard house black and cyan in many instances. Consult with your Gans Technical Representative to determine if this is possible in your specific application.
