For print projects requiring significant quantities of a specialty ink, Gans recommends the following course to avoid over-ordering: Purchase enough ink to keep the job running for 4-6 hours. As soon as the job is printing determine the actual yield on job stock after several thousand sheets. Calculate the true amount of ink necessary to complete the job and place a rush order for the balance.
